Highway 200 Improvements – Montana Department of

Project included installation of ten, 36-inch storm water culverts
under railroad tracks associated with a state highway road
project. Performed geotechnical investigation by mounting Orion drill
on railcar. Design included culvert location and grade, installation
requirements, jacking pits, and riprap outfall protection. Design
challenges included limited access, steep slopes from the railroad to
the Clark-Fork river, a sprint fiber optic line, and maintaining
railroad traffic. Secured environmental permits and reclamation plans.
Prepared complete design plan set and full specifications and contract
documents. Chose contractor, administered contract and change orders,
approved payments, and performed construction inspection.
Polson Rail Yard
Polson, Montana
Project included construction of a new rail yard associated with the
MDT highway 93 improvements project. Performed site reconnaissance
during earthwork activities, and limited subsurface
investigation. Provided recommendations regarding stabilization of
railroad bed for approach and yard areas.
